Nostalgia 

Sitting on the couch at home and being a couch potato is part of life (for some ppl). Remember those old TV shows, the ones which people don't remember or the ones which are unknown? Well I can still recall some. 

Under One Roof (SBS Comedy Series):

I really like this show. It's a Singaporean comedy that they're showing on SBS. But I guess it's not everyone's proverbial cup of tea. You'd probably have to have some understanding/influence of Asian culture to appreciate this one.  Basically, the show just follows the unusual situations the Tan family find themselves in. 

Characters:

Ah Teck- The fat father, he enjoys eating a LOT.  There are heaps of fat jokes in the series made at his expense, it's funny.  :)  Also, he usually has the habit of telling some stupid story about these fictional "Wong brothers" which is supposed to have some relevance to the current situation. His famous saying when he makes up those stupid stories--"A long..long time ago..in the Southern province of China...". He owns a mini-mart and is best friends with Yusof.

Dolly- The mother and housewife.  She doesn't work, but cleans the house and looks after the family very well.  She seems quite shy and very nice.  Sometimes she also seems to be a little ditzy. She also has that funnie giggle "ah-he-he-he-hee". Her best friend is Rosna, who is married to Yusof.

Paul- He is your regular nerd (u know four eye). He is an accountant and has an extreme phobia of germs.  He is completely obsessed with pharmacies and vitamins, and he also is a big fan of Sally Yeh.  He is constantly arguing with his brother Ronnie.

Denise- She who can do no wrong, or so it seems.  She is always using the phone and though she is generally a strong willed person, she is often talked into stupid situations by her best friend Melissa.  She also argues with Ronnie often.

Ronnie- He seems to be the family idiot.  He often does extremely stupid things and constantly argues with his siblings.  He is trying hard to make it big in the business world.  He thinks he is cool, but his family thinks otherwise. He has the habit of checking chicks out -- "oh..wat'a babe!!" ... He likes using the word "babe" or "babes" to influence his friends.

Yusof- He is Ah Teck's best friend, and is often advising him when he has problems.  He is quite shy and henpecked by his wife Rosna.   I think he owns a noodle store.

Rosna- Dolly's best friend, she is nearly always at the Tan's house.  She is quite fat so there are jokes made at her expense too, but she can be fierce so people often make fun of Ah Teck more than her. 

Macgyver (Channel 7 Action Series)

Created in the late 80's and through to the early 90's. This has got to be one of those TV action series which I've enjoyed way back when i was about 8 years old. Macgyver's full of action packed adventure in each episode. My fascination through science took off with the influence of Macgyver. It's interesting how Macgyver uses real SCIENCE to escape danger. It's been a while since I've watched Macgyver, my friend David and I are fans of Macgyver!! We could even still hum the tune to the beginning of each Macgyver espisode hehehe 

Characters:

Macgyver (Richard Dean Anderson) - He's the main star. I must admit, i haven't seen this guy cut his long hair..ehehe (though i've seen him StarGate). He's the coolest guy when it comes to escaping - just like Harry Houdini. 

Richard Thornton - works for the Phoenix Foundation.

Minor Characters:

Murdoch - This guy is full of evil. He's one of the baddies which appears every now and then through out the series.
